POSTPARTUM

Meet Jámmy

Executive Director of

Postpartum Nursing

Hello! My name is Jámmy (pronounced Jamie) Lemmons and I am the Executive Director of Postpartum Nursing Services at Bundle Birth, a Nursing Corporation. My passion for “all things” babies, pregnancy, and families started when I was ten years old and was able to help my aunt following the birth of my cousin, and since then has only grown! In my early years, I’ve worked as a professional nanny for 3 years (my first clients were triplets) and a childcare provider in the daycare setting.

I acquired three bachelor degrees in English, Psychology and finally Nursing! I am a Registered Nurse and have specialized in emergency and trauma services, surgical services, home health, and nursing education in the classroom and hospital, case management and disaster relief. I’ve worked in a children’s hospital, several level one trauma centers, labor and delivery, post-operative acute care departments, and medical surgical units. My greatest joy and accomplishment was the birth of my three beautiful children which marked the beginning of my chapter as a mother.

My choice to join Bundle Birth and leave the hospital is driven by my desire to improve the mental, social and health outcomes of mothers, infants and families through professional, long-lasting, meaningful connections. As a nurse in the hospital, I often felt rushed, restricted in the care and education I provided, and impersonal with my patients. Postpartum begins in the hospital but the journey takes place at home- that’s where I feel my expertise will have the greatest impact

Through my education and experience, my desire is to provide exceptional postpartum care that is centered around love, support, education, and evidence-based research to facilitate healing, family bonding, and a strong foundation on which to build wonderful memories! I look forward to creating life-long relationships with you as you begin or continue your journey as strong, equipped and confident parents. My promise to you as your postpartum nurse is to calm your fears and anxieties by assuring you of your ability to provide the love and care your baby needs. I will do this by facilitating an environment that provides professional education, support, and is judgement free. You and your partner call the shots and I will be there to provide my expertise, guidance, encouragement, and support.

Postpartum care is not a luxury but a necessity! As a nurse in the emergency department, I saw first-hand the need for extended postpartum care with the high rate of admissions for maternal hemorrhage, failure to thrive, postpartum depression, hypertension, and complications from cesarean sections, just to name a few. While some things cannot be avoided, there are many things that can be when caught quickly through the vigilance of in-home postpartum care. The last thing any mother wants is to be separated from her newborn baby due to a preventable medical emergency. This separation disrupts bonding, breastfeeding, and newly established routines and creates emotional distress for mom and baby. As your expert in-home postpartum nurse, I can help mitigate, and in many cases prevent medical complications for both you and baby that could negatively impact your experience and memories.

My philosophy is a holistic approach aimed at healing the body, relaxation, and supporting the new bond between baby and mom, baby and dad, mom and dad, and also baby and siblings. The birth of the baby also signifies the birth of a couple becoming parents. Becoming a parent is one of the most profound and life changing events that you will ever experience. It is a process. Be intentional, present, and adaptable, with the understanding that you are capable and enough, and I am here to assure that you have the best launch possible.

I have been married for almost 20 years to the love of my life, Brian. We have three beautiful babies, a 17-year old daughter, and 15 and 13 year old sons. Their love, support, and prayers have helped heal, grow and shape me into the woman and mother I am today!
